Chilli Pepper varieties of the C. baccatum species have white or cream flowers, they also have a typically green or gold corolla. The flowers can be either insect or self-pollinated. The fruit pods of the baccatum species have been cultivated and now produce a very wide variety of shapes and sizes and are unlike most other capsicum species, which tend to have a more uniform and characteristic shape. The pods typically hang down this is unlike the  Capsicum frutescens plants, the fruits have a citrus or fruity flavor.
