The Fish pepper is one of the best of all ornamental peppers, the plants are variegated, both on the foliage and the peppers themselves during the green stage. The leaves and fruit have lines and patches of creamy white and green, The pods/peppers eventually turn solid red. The Fish pepper produces hot pods that are around 2inch plus. Fish pepper was and is used to season fish and shellfish in the African-American communities around Baltimore and Philadelphia.
This chilli is still very much sought after by African American cooks.
