Death Spiral x 10 Seeds

£ 1.75

The Death Spiral Chilli or the "Death Pepper" is a new strain of pepper that emerged from the United Kingdom a few years ago. The Death Spiral manifested its way into the hot pepper market and took the pepper community by storm.

This super-hot chilli is loaded with capsaicin oils that drip between the inner walls of the pepper. The inner skin of these peppers is light brown in colour, which foreshadows the burn that is about to ensue. Flavour seems to vary with these peppers. Most peppers are fruity with citrus undertones, while some are floral with extreme heat. The ripening stages are very unique compared to other chili peppers. In the early stages it starts at a light green, then changes to light peach, finishing with a vibrant red and orange colour.

In layman's terms, this pepper is ridiculously hot and exciting to grow!

Since this is a relatively new strain, expect some variability. These peppers deserve a spot in your garden. You won't be disappointed.

Estimated Scoville Heat Units: 1,300,000+

Superb to grow and blows your taste buds out of the water
Seeds were tough to germinate, I only got 2 out of 10. Seedlings started slow but within a couple of weeks started to pack on some leaves. 8 weeks into podding now and I’m getting some very evil looking pods. Start the lightest green I’ve ever seen on a chilli pod, going to orange then a lovely red. The one I tested was maybe 3 days from fully ripe, and I can say honestly that I’m glad. A burst of flavour at first, difficult to say what it reminded me of and then bang, my tonsils started to melt. Oh my I was on fire. Burn lasted around 20 mins, even after a litre of milk. I took anther into work for a fellow chili head to try, (this guy is my Guinea pig for everything I’ve ever grown) And geez did he sweat, not to mention the colour of his face… Wow. All in all a brilliant explosive fun to grow chili, highly recommended, if a little temperamental to germinate. Will save the seeds and get some more in next time. Pity I can’t upload a pic
