The Fatalii is a member of the Capsicum Chinense family. The plant originates from central and southern Africa. It has a very fruity, citrus flavor and is very hot indeed. It can be compared to hot Habanero. The Scoville Food Institute lists the Fatalii as the seventh hottest pepper, ranging 125,000–400,000 Scoville units.
The plants usualy grow to about 25 inches high, but can reach 3 feet or even taller under optimal growing conditions. The pendant pods get 2.5 to 3.5 inches long and about 1.5 inches wide.
From a pale green, they mature and turn to a bright yellow, there are also red Fataliis available, but the yellow Fatalii is the original version.
