Mild to medium chillies which are used in southern Africa to make a savoury hot sauce for use as a dip for the staple maize porridge.

These upright plants have a very striking tiered habit, with purple leaves, purple flowers and dark purple unripe chillies which mature to bright red. The leaves often have some variegation, and can appear green in some lights. All in all this is a very attractive plant which grows well in a container and will produce many useful fairly mild chillies. Definitely one for the patio.
