The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T chilli pepper variety was ranked as the worlds hottest chilli pepper in the world, it held the Guinness World Records in 2011. In laboratory tests conducted in during 2011 the pepper measured at 1,463,700 Scoville heat units, this officially made the Butch T the hottest pepper in the world at that time. The secret to the heat, according to Mr. Butch T, is fertilizing the soil with liquid fertilizer made from his worm farm.
It is reported that the Butch T Scorpions are so hot that, in order to cook with it, cooks have had to wear chemical masks and body suits, and reported feelings of numbness in their hands for more than two days afterwards. Through experience I would say this may be more than a little farfetched.
Make no mistake this is a killer superhot, second only to the Moruga Scorpion.
