The 7 pod Rennie originates from Trinidad in the southeast corner of the Caribbean.  In an uncultivated field this variety was discovered and grown by chilli grower Rennie. A friend helped him distribute this variety to other chilli growers and finally it found its way to Australia.

The plant grows well in a pot to about a metre tall and is furthermore an amazing producer of big super hot chilli peppers. First the pods start of green and then change to a fiery red, when they are fully mature.

Rennie 7 pod pepper would be great chilli choice for a hot sauce, or sprinkle thin slices over your dinner to add some insane heat. If you cook with this variety be aware that the heat will increase.

It is said that one 7 pod will make 7 pots of food hot. That is how the 7 pod peppers got their name.

Pod size: 5 cm long and 3.5-4 cm wide

Flavour: The distinct 7 pod flavour, fruity and a slight floral as well.

Heat level: Extreme. Slow building deep burn that reaches a volcanic level.
